Cookies and local storage
Last updated October 29, 2026
Exactly what Renga stores in your browser, and why. Spoiler: a sign-in token and your light/dark preference.
1. What we store in your browser
Renga sets no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies and no tracking pixels. Everything below is strictly necessary for the site to work, which is why we do not show a cookie banner: there is nothing optional to consent to.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-*-auth-token | Local storage | Keeps you signed in and refreshes your session. Set only after you sign in. | Until you sign out or it expires |
| renga-theme | Local storage | Remembers light or dark mode. | Until cleared |
| __stripe_mid, __stripe_sid | Cookie (Stripe) | Set by Stripe on its own checkout and onboarding pages for fraud prevention. Not set on renga.life. | 1 year / 30 min |
2. Third parties that see your requests
Some parts of the page are loaded from other companies' servers, which means those companies receive your IP address and basic browser details when the page loads, as any web server does:
- Mapbox: map tiles and satellite imagery on the map and trip pages.
- Google Fonts: the typefaces.
- Stripe: the payment and payout pages, when you go to them.
- Yardstik: the background check application, for Guides who start a check. It runs on Yardstik's own site under its own cookie policy.
None of these are used by us to track you across other sites. See our Privacy Policy for the full list of providers.
3. Your controls
- Sign out to remove the session token.
- Clear site data in your browser settings to remove everything above. You will be signed out and the theme will reset.
- Blocking local storage entirely will prevent signing in.
- We honor the Global Privacy Control browser signal; since we do not sell or share data, it changes nothing today.
